The One Thing That Makes Any Trip More Fun

Tags: , , , ,

A couple of years ago, my Wife and I were preparing for a trip to the Middle East. We had figured out what to take with us (hand sanitizer is a must). We had made arrangements for my Sister to feed our cat and dog. We had taken care of everything except for one thing. The thought kept going through my mind “what if?” What if the unthinkable happened?

We each had made a Last Will And Testament several years before the trip, but we wanted to change some parts of the Wills. There wasn’t time to go to a lawyer’s office to sign new Wills. So, we each simply made new Last Will And Testaments ourselves and had two friends witness our signing our new Last Will And Testaments. Wow, what a relief it was when we signed those handmade Wills. Now everything was taken care of and we could enjoy the trip. If the unthinkable did happen and we died during the trip, people would know what we wanted done with our children and our property.

If you are going on a trip and do not have time to go to a lawyer to have your Last Will And Testament made, then consider either writing up your own statement or using a Last Will And Testament form. Either way, the two most important things are to make it clear that the statement is your Last Will And Testament and for you to sign it in front of witnesses. Most states require two witnesses, but some states require three witnesses. If you are not sure what your state requires, use three witnesses.

You will be amazed at how good you feel after you sign your Last Will And Testament. When you know that things will be taken care of if the unthinkable happens, you can really enjoy your trip. It makes a difference.

Don’t wait. Don’t put off making a Last Will And Testament. It is said that we are not promised tomorrow. The truth is that we are not promised the next moment.

The above information is general information only. For specific questions or clarification, contact a lawyer licensed in your state.

Choosing Your Next Travel Destination

Tags: , , , ,

Author: D. W. Brooks, MD
Source: articledashboard.com

If you are planning to take a vacation this year, think about what you really like to do, because this will make your trip more meaningful and fun. Travelers often take “safe” trips that their friends recommend, but is that always the best plan?

It’s good to ask yourself these questions before starting to plan your vacation:
- Do I want to relax?
- Do I want adventure or a learning experience?
- Do I want to get away from my job?

Once you know the answers to these questions, then you are ready to plan your trip.

Vacations are important for our emotional, physical and mental well-being and give a person a chance to relax, renew energy, and free oneself from the daily routine. Vacation destinations could be far away or nearby. Wherever the vacation may be, it serves the same purpose. It is the satisfaction that is most important.

Generally, there are some different types of travel according to activities involved. Here are some of them:

1. Rediscovering nature. Rediscovering travel is all about nature and everything in it. It revitalizes the soul while smelling and feeling nature.

2. Tribal cultures. In today’s world of high technology, it is fun to experience the simpler life of the tribal people who live close to nature in the same way for the past thousands of years.

3. Responsible Diving. Diving not only let travelers appreciate what is under the sea but also making the traveler more aware of the conservation effort.

The country one is planning to travel to also leaves a great mark on the traveler’s diary. Here are some of the more popular destinations today:

1. Thailand. It is an Asian country bounded by Burma, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Behind the back draft of Thailand’s jungles of bamboo, rubber trees and vines are five-star hotels with modern conveniences. In some parts of the country, elephants are still being used to lift timbers and buffalos are still being used in farming.

2. China. China is now the second largest country and fastest growing economy in the world. Many parts of China are still unexplored by tourists; however, the eastern portion is now popular with the western tourist. First class hotels now offer the best amenities.

3. Italy. Italy is a boot-like shape country bounded by Switzerland, Austria, France, and Slovenia. One main attraction in Italy is St. Peter’s Square where the Pope resides but there are lots other interesting sites to see such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa or the many basilicas (churches) throughout the country.

4. Caribbean. Caribbean is an archipelago of islands, 2000 square miles across. Most of the islands are plateaus and eruptions of underlying mountain systems. It has nice beaches of crushed coral and white or pink sand and the water at the shore is a deep blue.

The success of any vacation will not depend by how much the traveler spends or the destination. It will depends on how the traveler enjoyed it and how he/she was able to achieve his primary goal of “getting away from it all.”

What To Do Before You Go Travel Tips

Tags: , , , ,

Vacations are what everyone dreams of as they pass through the drudgery of everyday life. Vacation is a term used in English speaking North America to describe a lengthy time away from work or school, a trip abroad, or simply a pleasure trip away from home, such as a trip to the beach that lasts several days or longer. The term derives from the fact that, in the past, upper-class families would literally move to a summer home for part of the year, leaving their usual family home vacant.

However, a quality vacation requires a considerable amount of preparation in order to ensure a leisurely time away. The most important tip before you go on vacation is to ensure that the mail, paper and package deliveries are rerouted prior to leaving your home. The fastest way to alert a burglar that your home is unattended is to allow the daily newspaper to pile up on the front step or in the newspaper box. Taking a few moments to contact the postal delivery person and newspaper delivery person could make all the difference.

Responsibility Before Play

Another important tip before you go is to visit your local financial institute and purchase travelers’ checks. There is no other way to insure that the money you have been saving for your vacation will be will remain yours and not a pickpocket’s. A very important tip before you go on vacation is to prepare appropriate and accurate travel documents. If you don’t have a passport and think you might need one, now is the time to get it. If you have a passport, now is the time to renew it — even if it’s not set to expire anytime soon. Travel abroad and you’ll notice how often you have to show your passport: at hotels, banks, Internet cafes. So securing your passport before you go is an absolute must!

Many countries are specific in their requirements. Make sure that you have all necessary travel documents gathered into one place, generally keep them with the airline tickets, and ensure that everything is properly dated, signed and notarized. Without the proper documents, you can be denied entry to another country or be unable to return to your own.

It is always valuable to research the climate of the destination when organizing your travel wardrobe. Before you go tips are many but the need to pay close attention to the weather is an absolute must. The weather has been suggested as an environmental factor affecting physical activity. Particularly in temperate climates, the weather varies considerably by season and even day-to-day. Weather or time of year apparently impacts all socioeconomic groups as a barrier to physical activity.

A well-prepared wardrobe will make your vacation run smoothly. Always pack neutral colors and basic items to insure that you are covered for all situations. For women, a black cocktail dress is always a saving grace. Men should always pack a button down shirt and dinner jacket and slacks for those special nights. It is taking the time to pay attention to the details that will save you time on your vacation.

Before you go, Remember your goal is Fun

There are so many different ideas and suggestions when traveling, everyone has an idea of what works best. Before you go tips are as plenty as the options for travel locations. However, it is most important that you secure your home, your identity, and your finances prior to departure. Everything else has a way of working itself out in the end. Once you have ensured that the most important security items are organized and taken care of, remember that the final part of a vacation is to enjoy it.

Top Reasons for Choosing an Online Travel Agency

Tags: , , , ,

Author: Tiffanyjordanbr

br
When you are looking to plan a vacation, there are going to be several things that you want to look at so that you know your vacation is going to be as smooth as possible. One of the most important aspects is going to be deciding on how to plan your trip. Choosing an online travel agency is something that you have probably considered, and when you are planning a vacation it can be a time saver, a money saver, and a lifesaver. Choosing an online travel agency saves time. When you are planning a vacation and attempting to do all of the planning on your own, you are constantly going from site to site scoping out the deals, and figuring out how to fit those deals into your planning. When you use an online travel agency, your time is at least cut in half. You have many tools right at your fingertips, and you should have access to the best deals under the sun.In most cases, you do not have to worry about waiting around to find the right deals either, or looking through all of the various sites to make sure that you are getting the best savings. By booking your flight arrangements, your hotel packages and your entire travel itinerary with an online travel agency, you can avoid unnecessary stress and save valuable time and energy that would have been otherwise wasted hunting around for similar deals an online travel agency offers. You might not be aware of it, but booking all of the parts of your vacation on your own, no matter where you are going, is going to cost some extra money. If you book it on your own, there are booking fees and taxes that you will have to pay on all of the parts of your trip. You can save on these expenses by working with an online travel agency. Also, you will not have to worry about hunting for the best deals. It is going to be almost impossible for you to find the best deals for everything when you are booking a trip on your own. This is just one example why an online travel agency might be the best option when planning a vacation. You should rest assured knowing that you have found the best deals, as the travel agency will search for them and will keep you informed. This means that you never have to worry about wondering if you have made the right choice. Worrying causes stress and you do not want to be stressed out on your vacation. Going through an online travel agency can really be a lifesaver. When you are planning a trip, even one to a country you have been to many times, it is often hard to figure out all of the right rules, traditions, and regulations that might govern your travel. There are news alerts to worry about, and it is always important to know where you should go and maybe where you might want to potentially avoid. An online travel agency can help you find a place to stay which meets your financial needs and expectations. Also, an online travel agency will assist you in planning an itinerary so that you can see everything you wish, and stay as safe as possible. When you are going through an online travel agency they will make you aware of aspects such as these. You will have access to travel safety alerts, and the newest information about where and when it is safe for you to travel. Booking a vacation on your own is not going to give you all of this information. If you research it yourself you may not be too sure if you are receiving the proper information. You can always go back and double check, but the travel agency does this every day, it is their job to keep you out of harm’s way. Therefore, booking through an online travel agency can really be a lifesaver in the end. Please remember your own sanity. Booking a vacation yourself is going to be a lot of work and can become very stressful. With an online travel agency, everything is taken care of for you and it can save you a great deal of time and money. When you are booking a vacation, you have several choices. You can book on your own and take your chances, or you can use an online travel agency and save time, money, and perhaps your sanity as well as your safety. Online travel agencies are easy to find, easy to use, and great for any type of travel, whether your trip is for business or pleasure. When your trip ends up being the travel experience of a lifetime, you will be glad you booked it using an online travel agency.br

Running While Traveling

Tags: , , , ,

Author: Dr Andrew Schneiderbr

br
As a runner, sometimes it can be difficult to keep up with a training schedule, especially if you travel a lot for work or when you go on vacation. I am reminded of a recent vacation I took that was about a month before a half-marathon that I had been training for. I knew that I was going to have to get a few runs in during my trip or I would negate the training I had been doing for the past 2 months.

The tricky thing about this trip was that it was a cruise to Alaska. I wasnt comfortable running outside because of the extreme wilderness in the area (honestly I was afraid I would be eaten by a bear or something crazy like that), so I knew my only option would be to run on the treadmills in the workout facility onboard the cruise ship. To my surprise it is actually quite challenging to run on a treadmill while the boat is rocking back and forth. My body was not used to this motion and I started to feel very tired and a little sea sick after about 2 miles. During the course of the week-long cruise every time I tried to run, I could only get up to about 2 or 3 miles before my body would give up.

As you can tell from my story, running on vacation or in any location away from home can be challenging but sometimes you just have to run to keep up with your training schedule. Running in different locations can be very fun and refreshing. As many runners will attest to, it can get very boring running the same 3 or 4 routes around your home. Therefore when you get the chance to run while traveling, make sure you take the opportunity.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind when running in unfamiliar places. First, always put safety first. You never know how safe an area is that you may be running in while traveling so make sure that you are either running with someone or have a cell phone with you while running in case of an emergency. It is also smart to run during daylight and in areas where public assistance is available. Second, make sure you know what kind of weather to expect. If you are from Houston, Texas and you go to Seattle on a trip and decide to go for a run outside then you better have some extra layers of water proof clothing on or you may end up with some nasty blisters from one of the most rainy cities in America.

The most important thing to remember when running while traveling is to play it safe. You may feel the urge to get out there and run in a new environment but make sure you are prepared. Running in new places can be a great adventure if done cautiously.

Hawaii Trips: Why An Inter-island Vacation May Be For You

Tags: , , , ,

Author: George Finnerin -br

br
Have you recently made the decision to travel to Hawaii? If so, have you decided on an island yet? Popular vacation destinations, for those traveling to Hawaii, include Big Island, Kauai, Molokai, Oahu, Maui, and Lanai. When further examining each of these islands, you may find it difficult to make a decision. What you may not know is that you do not necessarily have to choose just one island. With the recent spike in tourism, a large number of Hawaii travel companies have made it easier, as well as more affordable, to travel from one Hawaiian Island to another. These types of trips are often referred to as inter-island Hawaii trips.

As you likely already assume, inter-island Hawaii trips eliminate the need to make a decision; a decision as to which of the six main Hawaiian Islands you would like to visit. You will still have to decide which island you would like to visit first; however, you dont necessarily have to eliminate an island that you would like to visit. Whether you want to go shopping on Big Island, enjoy the beaches of Maui, or lounge on the peaceful island of Lanai, you could easily do so. Inter-island Hawaii trips give you the luxury of visiting and staying, as long as you would like, at two or more of your favorite islands.

Perhaps, what is most exciting about inter-island Hawaii trips is that it will actually appear is you are on more than one vacation. In fact, it may seem as if you are on a vacation inside of another vacation. Traveling over the ocean and arriving to another Hawaiian Island, one that is unique all on its own, is something that is just absolutely amazing. This experience is ideal for any vacation; however, many vacationers find it romantic. Whether you are planning a romantic getaway or you are on your honeymoon, you and your partner may enjoy the romance and excitement created with inter-island travel.

Although it may be best to decide on inter-island travel before you leave for Hawaii, you dont necessarily have to. A number of inter-island Hawaii travel companies cater to tourists who make last minute decisions. Essentially, this means that whether are looking to spice up your vacation or you heard another tourist talk highly of another one of the Hawaii Islands, you can easily alter your travel plans. That is one of the many things that vacationers love about inter-island travel, the ability to change their itinerary, however and whenever they see fit. Even with last minute travel, you are sure to find the cost of an inter-island flight relatively affordable.

Even though it is possible to decide on inter-island travel once you arrive in Hawaii, it may be best to plan ahead. In addition to getting low-cost airfare deals, you may also find affordable inter-island Hawaii trip packages. These packages may not only include roundtrip inter-island airfare, but hotel accommodations, as well as a car rental. It is a known fact that you can almost always save money with vacation packages; therefore, if you are looking for inter-island Hawaii trips, while on a budget, it may be a good idea to plan or, at least, discuss inter-island travel before you leave for Hawaii.

When it comes to deciding whether or not an inter-island Hawaiian vacation is what you want, the decision is completely yours to make; however, it may be a good idea to keep the above mentioned points in mind. Familiarizing yourself with inter-island Hawaii trips, as well as the benefits to taking them, is the best way to go about making the decision that best fits your vacation needs./pbr

Use Travel Information to Plan Your Vacation

Tags: , , , ,

Author: Chris Robertsonbr

br
When you have only a short time for a vacation, you want to make sure everything goes perfectly. Getting the right travel information is key to the success of your holiday. Plus, planning for your vacation can be (almost) as much fun as the vacation itself. Here are the steps you can take to get the information you need for the vacation you want.

First you have to collect travel information so you can decide where to go:

* Ask your fellow travelers where they want to go and what they are looking for in a vacation.

* Narrow your choices down to two or three possible destinations.

* Research your top choices. You can get tons of travel information online. Find photos, videos, and blogs of real people telling about their travel experiences. Visit travel sites, tour company sites (it doesnt cost to browse) and destination sites.

* Talk to people whove been to places youre considering.

* Calculate how much a trip to each of your top spots will cost.

* Consider all the information you have collected and decide where you will go.

Next is the fun part:

* Collect every bit of information you can find on your destination. Use the library to find photo collections and old histories. Buy current travel guides. Go online. Find out about the weather, the language, and the currency. Find out the must-see sites. If you have special interests, such as museums or natural history, gather information on them.

* Decide on places to stay. Are you going to a resort? On a tour? Will you be making the reservations or will a travel agent?

* Decide on transportation: how will you get there and how will you get around once youre there?

* If youre traveling abroad, find out if you need visas, proof of vaccinations, or other documents. You will need a passport, even for Mexico and Canada, so dont forget that essential document, and make sure it doesnt expire before the end of your trip.

* Now you can pack your bags. (You probably should check on any luggage limits before you pack.) Dont forget the old travelers adage: Youll need half the clothes and twice the money you think youll need.

Just before you leave:

* Re-check your reservations for hotels and transportation.

* Check current travel information for travel warnings or advisories. Political unrest, health warnings, and weather or environmental disasters can force you to change your plans. Its better to know about any problems before you head for the airport. Private and government websites have up-to-date travel information of this kind.

A note on business travel: You probably dont need to know about sightseeing for your business trip and someone else may be making all your plans and reservations for you. However, you still need to check for travel warnings and advisories. Your time is valuable-be sure to check current travel information before you depart.

Whether youre traveling for work or for fun, getting accurate travel information is important for a successful trip.

Tips For Enjoying A Road Trip

Tags: , ,

Whenever Im about to leave on a road trip there is always someone that groans and feels sorry for me. Well, Im here to tell you they dont have to be torture. I happen to love them and Im about to share with you a few of my personal survival tactics.

1.Your travel companion must and I repeat must be easy going. I am fortunate enough to have a most awesome husband. He, (unlike my father growing up) has the patience of Job and absolutely no problem pacing our trip. My experience growing up was quite the opposite. You stopped only for gas, bathroom stops must be timed with such. Hotel stops if you were lucky enough to get one was long after dark and too late to swim. Food was packed at the beginning and better last the trip!

2.Its good to have a hobby. Some of my personal favorite car ride pastimes include Sudoku, rag mags and scrap booking. Thats right I even manage to scrap book in the car!

3.Know your route. Because my husband and I frequently visit family in Pennsylvania we are well familiar with the trip. ( Sixteen times this past year) We have made our own travel information log of our favorite stops along the way. For example we know that at exit 6 in Georgia, gas in very cheap, exit 8 in South Carolina is a good overnight stopping point. (outlet mall included). Exit 95 wonderful outlet mall and perfect timing for a car nap for the driver while the passenger(s) shop. Last but not least exit 33 in Virginia has the much needed Starbucks! So you see, by having points of interest along the way, you always have something to look forward to. These can be tailored to your own personal likes.

Do you see how just applying these few points a car trip can actually be fun!/pbr

Tips For Yellowstone National Park Travelers

Tags: , , ,

Author: Shawn Collinbr

br
Yellowstone National Park is one of the best reasons for living in and visiting the United States. The vast natural forest is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna and its been preserved so well that pleasant and exciting surprises await the adventurous visitor. If youre planning a trip to Yellowstone soon, here are some travel tips you can use for your safety and security:

Be aware of prevailing conditions but be ready for anything Yellowstone is like a whole different world in itself. Conditions vary here, changing easily from calm to stormy within just 24 hours. When traveling to Yellowstone, always check weather conditions in the area and use precautions to ensure your safety for the trip.

Practice defensive driving. The area going to and within Yellowstone is often used by both humans and animals. Be especially aware of distracted drivers, animal crossing and other related incidents. These will result to travel delays, so be very patient.

Bring all necessary gear and supplies When traveling to Yellowstone, bring all the basics with you in terms of food, water, clothing and survival gear. Having sufficient supply of clean water is essential since water from the park itself is not guaranteed safe. Drinking water from streams, lakes, ponds or creeks that have not been boiled or treated could put you at risk of intestinal infestations and infections.

Even water from thermal pools isnt safe for consumption. They have been known to cause serious burns in numerous visitors over the years.

As for equipment, think of worst-case scenarios. Bring a tent, weather-resistant clothing and other survival equipment such as lighters, all-purpose knives, flashlights, first aid kits, etc. to ensure your personal safety and protection.

Take care of your trash Food, food scraps, containers, tissues and other materials that end up in your trash should be disposed of properly. During travel to Yellowstone, be aware that the trash you leave behind could have a negative impact not just on the environment but also on the animal residents of the area.

Think safety, regardless of where you are When entering Yellowstone, know that you are at the mercy of Nature. Your only defense is correct information and common sense. When traveling to Yellowstone or participating in the numerous activities available there, be aware of animal activity. Bears, for example, are just a few of the natural threats that you have to watch out for. When driving, walking, hiking or camping, be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye out for signs of animal activity that might expose you to danger unnecessarily.

Follow regulations Yellowstone maintains a strict system for its camps and backcountry areas. Be aware of all regulations that are in place not just to ensure you dont violate any rules but also for your own personal safety.

Certain activities also require permits. Camping, for example, is allowed only in certain designated areas. Permits for overnight stays have to be obtained personally in advance, so check with the administrative office for information.

Enjoy yourself Yellowstone is too beautiful to ignore. When traveling, bring a camera to capture the scenic routes and spectacular views. As long as you keep safety and security measures in mind, you can be assured of a very enjoyable trip to Yellowstone again and again.
