Author: Stephen Best
Source: articledashboard.com

A couple of years ago, my Wife and I were preparing for a trip to the Middle East. We had figured out what to take with us (hand sanitizer is a must). We had made arrangements for my Sister to feed our cat and dog. We had taken care of everything except for one thing. The thought kept going through my mind “what if?” What if the unthinkable happened?

We each had made a Last Will And Testament several years before the trip, but we wanted to change some parts of the Wills. There wasn’t time to go to a lawyer’s office to sign new Wills. So, we each simply made new Last Will And Testaments ourselves and had two friends witness our signing our new Last Will And Testaments. Wow, what a relief it was when we signed those handmade Wills. Now everything was taken care of and we could enjoy the trip. If the unthinkable did happen and we died during the trip, people would know what we wanted done with our children and our property.

If you are going on a trip and do not have time to go to a lawyer to have your Last Will And Testament made, then consider either writing up your own statement or using a Last Will And Testament form. Either way, the two most important things are to make it clear that the statement is your Last Will And Testament and for you to sign it in front of witnesses. Most states require two witnesses, but some states require three witnesses. If you are not sure what your state requires, use three witnesses.

You will be amazed at how good you feel after you sign your Last Will And Testament. When you know that things will be taken care of if the unthinkable happens, you can really enjoy your trip. It makes a difference.

Don’t wait. Don’t put off making a Last Will And Testament. It is said that we are not promised tomorrow. The truth is that we are not promised the next moment.

The above information is general information only. For specific questions or clarification, contact a lawyer licensed in your state.

Traveling with your baby spells fun and enjoyment. But sometimes, it can be nerve-racking too, especially if it’s your first time to travel with your little one. Careful and rigid planning is important. Below are some important tips to help you achieve a safe, enjoyable and worry-free travel.Plan ahead of time – Planning ahead of time is recommended to avoid cramming up and in turn, forgetting and leaving some important things behind. Careful plan should be made on the whereabouts of your destination, the activities that you have in mind when on vacation, and the essential things that you need to bring.Prepare your child – Preparing your little one for the much-awaited travel is a must. Always make sure that your baby is in good condition and top shape physically to avoid unnecessary problems during your period of travel. Prepare him also emotionally and mentally, so as to avoid sudden behavioral changes.Be a role model for your kids – Your children always look up to you every moment of their learning years. Be prepared yourself for the travel. Don’t get nervous. Be positive about your trip. Chances are, your children will do the same with what they have seen in you. If you are nervous, they get nervous too. So watch out for your mental and emotional stability when traveling.Take breaks – If you are traveling long-distance trips, better take a break every 2 hours to have diaper change, feeding time and going to the bathroom. Keep your baby calm and soothed while traveling – In order to achieve this, bring some comforting items for your baby, like baby blankets and soft, snuggly baby toys for him to cuddle during your trip. This will help in releasing the tension and anxiety that the baby might be feeling.Be sure to pack your baby’s essentials – Be sure to bring along enough clothes, baby care essentials, bathing essentials and medicines. Bring also blankets and protective gears for the sudden change of the weather.Don’t forget also to bring car seat, lightweight stroller and a small bathing tub (for young babies). Of course, diapers and formula milk should not be forgotten. Plastic bags for soiled linens and diapers are also recommended.Bring also baby’s toys, books and musical cd’s for added enjoyment during your travel. And of course, don’t forget to bring enough foods (snacks, water, juice and healthy non- perishable foods).Give the baby something that he is familiar with – Babies are so used to the familiarity and the comfort of their home, that their moods are so unpredictable when you travel away from home. Children take several days to adjust, so just be patient with them. Bring along some familiar things so that they may still feel that they are just close to their home. Pack surprises during travel periods – This will ensure that they will not be bored with the long ride. Bring along toys, activity books and musical cd’s. Sing along some of your favorite songs together to help diminish the stress usually caused by long periods of travel.Start and end your day early – Children are usually at their best in the mornings; so travel, explore and sightsee during that period. Reserve the afternoon for family bonding, and the evening for relaxing. Children are more likely to throw tantrums if their activity cycle is disturbed.

Whether you are traveling for work or leisure-planning and preparation is key!

You’ve discovered that the raw food diet and lifestyle definitely allows you to feel your best. Now you need to maintain that level of energy as best you can while enjoying life in another city. It can be easy to fall into bad eating habits while traveling, so you need to make your raw lifestyle and personal health a priority when you’re away from the comforts of your home kitchen. I’ve found that bringing along dried, portable foods and supplements, as well as some fresh foods can be the difference between staying raw and completely falling off the wagon and experiencing a wave of regret. Planning ahead, some internet research before you leave, and getting to know the local natural food stores will help you enjoy the healthiest trip of your life.

These are all things I do and doing all of them allows me to never be apprehensive towards travel. I would hate for my diet to hold me back from traveling. I don’t think it would be worth it if it did! A couple days before you leave, start thinking about what raw snacks, superfoods, and supplements you’d really love to have with you. I portion my superfood snacks into small plastic baggies, and keep them in a larger zipped bag (for example: handful of almonds, goji berries, pumpkin seeds, dried figs, etc). I usually bring at least one raw food snack bar for each day I’ll be on vacation. Other handy (and super-nutritious) travel snacks could be sea vegetables (such as whole leaf dulse), bee pollen, and an old vitamin jar full of superfood powders (green powder, maca, a little stevia for sweetness). I always bring a glass jar with a screw top lid to shake up the green powders in water. I never go anywhere without my Celtic sea salt shaker bottle either. All this, believe it or not, will fit in a large plastic zipper bag.

If you take multivitamins and other supplements, bring those too! Most of us will need this kind of nutritional support the most while traveling because we may not have access to all the foods we’re used to. I love reusing the tin cases mints come in for toting around vitamins, enzymes, and other supplements. They’re the perfect size!

A couple more things you may want to pack: a thin plastic cutting board, silverware (including a butterknife or something similar-packed in your checked in luggage, please), and some herbal laxatives–a change in diet plus travel makes for constipation-you’ll thank me!

You’re almost set! If you’re staying in a hotel, be sure to ask if there will be a refrigerator in your room. There is usually no charge for one, especially if you say you have a special diet. If you’re staying at a friend’s place, let them know about your diet and ask them if they don’t mind you having a special area in their fridge for your foods. If you’re going to be in a car for a while, maybe think about bringing a small cooler. The bottom line is, you’ll want to keep your salad greens, vegetables, and fruit cool so they don’t go bad.

Also, before you leave, be sure to spend some time online checking out all the raw vegan, vegan, vegetarian, and/or organic restaurants near you. Write down the addresses and phone numbers before you leave. Find out where the nearest natural food store is and see if there are any farmers markets in town. These should be some of the first stops you make when you reach your destination. Natural food stores will be essential in supplying your greens, organics, and other fun snacks you’d like. Many times you can find a raw food section with prepared gourmet raw entrees as well!

Here are some great websites that will help you:

rawfoodrestaurantguide.com/blog/ (Enter your email on the website and the guide link will be emailed to you. )
sunfoodtraveler.com
.HappyCow.net (lists all vegetarian, vegan, and raw food restaurants)/li>

The key is to not feel nutritionally deprived at any point during your trip. The people you will be traveling with may have to make an extra stop just for you, but as long as you have what you need, you can hang out with them from that point on.

Some people have asked me if I travel with my Vita-mix blender or Magic Bullet mini-blender. I don’t. But I usually don’t travel for more than one week at a time. If I was to travel for two weeks or more, I would definitely consider bringing a blender with me because I love green smoothies in the morning. I could also make juice with the Vita-mix using a nut milk bag. But for trips of only a week or less, organic fruit in the morning is perfect.

I usually make a salad for the plane flight, or long car ride, too. I do this for several reasons:

I usually can’t go for more than three hours after my typical fruit-only breakfasts without eating.
I usually have plenty of greens, veggies, and ripe avocados in my fridge that will go bad while I’m gone, so why not use them?
I like to get one last awesome meal in before switching to more dried foods and possibly non-organic meals.
I like saving money on meals and snacks.
I need a couple of reusable plastic containers for salads I’ll make in my destination city anyway, so why not start using them now?Now you’re set! You have most of the non-fresh things on you and you’ll be buying your organic fruit, greens, salad veggies, and avocado (great to use for dressing) when you get there. Enjoy your trip, stay raw, and have the best time ever!

True, Tripadvisor, Frommer’s and the Lonely Planet are some of the best online travel communities going, but they’re far from the only ones amongst the greats. So go on, expand your travel community horizons and check out our 7 Best Off The Radar Travel Communities:

For those who truly want it all, upgrade to the pro version and Trip It will automatically alert you if there are changes or delays in your travel plans. That means less time at the airport, and more time at the beach.

4. Dopplr

Create a map with the dates and location of your travels; share it with the Dopplr community, check out other’s maps, then meet up with those whose travel plans overlap with your own. If you’d like to keep your location a secret from some (mom, dad, a raging x), don’t worry, you can control who can and can’t see where you are.

Along the way you’ll get a wealth of location specific travel information, so you’ll always know where to stay, where to eat, and what to do. Taking the thinking out of traveling, we like that.

Author: D. W. Brooks, MD

If you are planning to take a vacation this year, think about what you really like to do, because this will make your trip more meaningful and fun. Travelers often take “safe” trips that their friends recommend, but is that always the best plan?

It’s good to ask yourself these questions before starting to plan your vacation:
- Do I want to relax?
- Do I want adventure or a learning experience?
- Do I want to get away from my job?

Once you know the answers to these questions, then you are ready to plan your trip.

Vacations are important for our emotional, physical and mental well-being and give a person a chance to relax, renew energy, and free oneself from the daily routine. Vacation destinations could be far away or nearby. Wherever the vacation may be, it serves the same purpose. It is the satisfaction that is most important.

Generally, there are some different types of travel according to activities involved. Here are some of them:

1. Rediscovering nature. Rediscovering travel is all about nature and everything in it. It revitalizes the soul while smelling and feeling nature.

2. Tribal cultures. In today’s world of high technology, it is fun to experience the simpler life of the tribal people who live close to nature in the same way for the past thousands of years.

3. Responsible Diving. Diving not only let travelers appreciate what is under the sea but also making the traveler more aware of the conservation effort.

The country one is planning to travel to also leaves a great mark on the traveler’s diary. Here are some of the more popular destinations today:

1. Thailand. It is an Asian country bounded by Burma, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Behind the back draft of Thailand’s jungles of bamboo, rubber trees and vines are five-star hotels with modern conveniences. In some parts of the country, elephants are still being used to lift timbers and buffalos are still being used in farming.

2. China. China is now the second largest country and fastest growing economy in the world. Many parts of China are still unexplored by tourists; however, the eastern portion is now popular with the western tourist. First class hotels now offer the best amenities.

3. Italy. Italy is a boot-like shape country bounded by Switzerland, Austria, France, and Slovenia. One main attraction in Italy is St. Peter’s Square where the Pope resides but there are lots other interesting sites to see such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa or the many basilicas (churches) throughout the country.

4. Caribbean. Caribbean is an archipelago of islands, 2000 square miles across. Most of the islands are plateaus and eruptions of underlying mountain systems. It has nice beaches of crushed coral and white or pink sand and the water at the shore is a deep blue.

The success of any vacation will not depend by how much the traveler spends or the destination. It will depends on how the traveler enjoyed it and how he/she was able to achieve his primary goal of “getting away from it all.”

Visiting places is in our blood ” we all enjoy it. Be it the next stop light tiny plaza or Eiffel Tower, the basic goal of having a good time amidst this hectic life is well served. I wonder when pre-humans or humans constantly traveled places in search of food and shelter, what surprises they must have met in daily lives. And surprises are plenty if one lands in India known for its rich culture and established traditions. And, if it is going to be India then Rajasthan, the land of colors and traditions, will be amongst the top choices on any tour of this country of rich culture and tradition. Rajasthan is the place where you will experience the real historical beauty of India. You will just love the place and cherish the trip forever. It is India’s one of the very famous tourist destinations inviting people from all over the world. This beautiful place is famous for its historical tombs, magnificent palaces, unforgettable monuments and out-of-this-world deserts. Touring a place like Rajasthan would definitely give you a taste of travel which would be like no other ” even among Indian travelers list, it finds itself among the toppers. What else do we want for the worth of our investment? The most famous place in Rajasthan is the capital city of Jaipur, also known as the Pink City. The other popular places of the state are Jodhpur, Jaiselmer, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Bikaner. One of the major attractions of the state is the Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the year 1799. The beauty of seeing it during the sunrise is very commendable. The architecture gives a feeling of “million windows”. The other major attractions are Mount Abu a beautiful hill station, Ajmer Sharif, Pushkar Fair, Jantar Mantar, Chittaurgarh, Jaiselmer fort, the Thar Desert and many more. Jaipur has come to the limelight for being the largest gem cutting centre in the world ” ladies think jewelry. It is the best place to get precious stones such as diamonds, emeralds, and ruby etc. Tourists who visit Jaiselmer can’t afford to miss the camel safari which is situated in the heart of the Thar Desert. It is also famous for various temples, forts and ancient palaces. The architectural beauty of Rajasthan is grand and spectacular. The beauty of its monuments, palaces and forts is something which can never be forgotten. Another historical city Ajmer is well-known for the Ajmer Sharif and museums. The adventurous journey in national parks and wildlife sanctuaries such as Ranthambore National Park which is a part of Project Tiger, Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuaries and Sariska Wildlife sanctuaries are really enjoyable by the tourists. Parks such as Amrita Devi Park and Machia Safari Park are very popular. The colorful markets are also very attractive for the tourist where you can find handicraft items, gold jewelry and a special type of footwear called “Jootis” which will definitely draw your attention. It’s a land known for folk dance, music, and colors. The women dress up in colorful costumes embroidered with mirror, zari, and gota. They wear silver jewelry along with this costume. The men wear traditional achkan, pajama and colorful turban which look very beautiful. Without knowing the costumes and ornaments of Rajasthan one’s trip to Rajasthan is incomplete. Rajasthan is the state of Rajputs or, translated literally means sons of kings, the descendants of warrior clans. Rajasthan, literally known as the land of Kings, was ruled by several kings for years and years. All the monuments, ‘havelis’ or huge residences, palaces, and temples etc were built during the reign of different kings and reflect the status of their affluence. Some of the majestic palaces have been converted into hotels for the tourists to experience what royals used to enjoy. In addition, there are other hotels bearing Rajasthan’s heritage like Taj Lake Palace, the Oberoi’s Rajvilas hotel, the Rambagh hotel, etc. How can we talk about Rajasthan and not mention its cuisine! Taste buds will miss the cuisines as you would leave the place. The king’s palace has dishes that imbibe the royal taste. It’s basically vegetarian food made up of pure ghee as Rajasthani’s are pure vegetarian. But this doesn’t bring a limitation to finding equally delicious non-vegetarian food in the land. Natural beauty is plenty. Rajasthan is a desert treat for eyes, it’s blessed with several natural lakes. While talking about flora it has Northern Desert Thorn Forest, and fauna such as deer, tiger, blackbuck, Bengal fox, eagles, wolf etc. Although expensive, the Palace on Wheels train journey is designed to flaunt the sheer elegance of Rajasthan as you lose yourself in a cross-desert land ride to witness where heritage is of utmost honor. Book early a ticket on Palace on Wheels, if you are planning a trip because the rush hour is 24X7 for booking on Palace on Wheels. The climate over there is extreme that is hotter days and colder nights but still people love to visit the place no matter what because at last the thing which matters is having an unforgettable experience at such a nice place. When are you planning your visit to the most beautiful historical place to rejuvenate yourself and take away the good memories with you? You better plan it with at least a month’s window at hand as the place has so much to offer and it won’t be surprising if you meet your couple of old family friends there.

Vacations are what everyone dreams of as they pass through the drudgery of everyday life. Vacation is a term used in English speaking North America to describe a lengthy time away from work or school, a trip abroad, or simply a pleasure trip away from home, such as a trip to the beach that lasts several days or longer. The term derives from the fact that, in the past, upper-class families would literally move to a summer home for part of the year, leaving their usual family home vacant.

However, a quality vacation requires a considerable amount of preparation in order to ensure a leisurely time away. The most important tip before you go on vacation is to ensure that the mail, paper and package deliveries are rerouted prior to leaving your home. The fastest way to alert a burglar that your home is unattended is to allow the daily newspaper to pile up on the front step or in the newspaper box. Taking a few moments to contact the postal delivery person and newspaper delivery person could make all the difference.

Responsibility Before Play

Another important tip before you go is to visit your local financial institute and purchase travelers’ checks. There is no other way to insure that the money you have been saving for your vacation will be will remain yours and not a pickpocket’s. A very important tip before you go on vacation is to prepare appropriate and accurate travel documents. If you don’t have a passport and think you might need one, now is the time to get it. If you have a passport, now is the time to renew it — even if it’s not set to expire anytime soon. Travel abroad and you’ll notice how often you have to show your passport: at hotels, banks, Internet cafes. So securing your passport before you go is an absolute must!

Many countries are specific in their requirements. Make sure that you have all necessary travel documents gathered into one place, generally keep them with the airline tickets, and ensure that everything is properly dated, signed and notarized. Without the proper documents, you can be denied entry to another country or be unable to return to your own.

It is always valuable to research the climate of the destination when organizing your travel wardrobe. Before you go tips are many but the need to pay close attention to the weather is an absolute must. The weather has been suggested as an environmental factor affecting physical activity. Particularly in temperate climates, the weather varies considerably by season and even day-to-day. Weather or time of year apparently impacts all socioeconomic groups as a barrier to physical activity.

A well-prepared wardrobe will make your vacation run smoothly. Always pack neutral colors and basic items to insure that you are covered for all situations. For women, a black cocktail dress is always a saving grace. Men should always pack a button down shirt and dinner jacket and slacks for those special nights. It is taking the time to pay attention to the details that will save you time on your vacation.

Before you go, Remember your goal is Fun

There are so many different ideas and suggestions when traveling, everyone has an idea of what works best. Before you go tips are as plenty as the options for travel locations. However, it is most important that you secure your home, your identity, and your finances prior to departure. Everything else has a way of working itself out in the end. Once you have ensured that the most important security items are organized and taken care of, remember that the final part of a vacation is to enjoy it.

When in Sucre cheesy as the ‘dino mobile’ looks a trip to the dinosaur footprints will exceed your expectations. Thecost of avisit is cheap and the prints are extensive – it’s justsuch a shame& quite unbelievable that such a treasure is still part of a working quarry. The prints scale a sheer rock face which shakes withdynamite explosions from the baseeven as you watch- let’s hope that UNESCO win their battle and these footprints are preserved forfuture generations.

Do not miss the world wonder which is the salt flats of Uyuni. There are 2 choices of trip – either a 1 day trip out to the salt flats & back or a 3 day trip across the salt flats and on in to San Pedro De Atacama – Chile. If Chile is on your travel path then this is probably the best trip to take as you will see all the attractions of the salt flats along with the red & green lagoons & flamingos. The 1 day trip will however cover the salt flats element and from Uyuni you can get an overnight train down to the border with Argentina. These trains do not leave every day though so worth checking before you arriveto avoid a prolonged stay in Uyuni. Once in Uyuni every shop is a travel agent and trying to choose who to go with blows your mind – all offer pretty much the same thing the decider needs to be how good their English is and the state of their vehicles. All operators have books with reviews from previous travellers so have a read of these before you decide.

La Paz is the unofficial capital of Bolivia and the biggest city at high altitude in the world. It?s a fascinating city, full of markets .. including the notorious witches market where Bolivians buy llama foetuses which hang in the doorways of all the shops – they?re believed to bring good luck if placed in the foundations of a building. For all those that have read ?Marching powder? – yes the prison is still there but unfortunately when we were there nosy backpackers were no longer permitted access (although in Bolivia money talks so if you’re feeling brave it could be worth a try!).

Ten ways to reduce stress, maintain focus, capture energy while traveling on business

Women are travelling for business at a greater than ever rate. Simultaneously women are juggling growing job responsibilities, family obligations and other tasks. Time ???out?? of our life for travel can mean tension at many levels. Self-care, the greatest stress reducer, gets lost. Business travel, if well planned, can be productive. Here are some valuable tips to care for yourself, protect your sanity, and increase your success potential.

1. Duplicate your personal items: If you are a frequent traveller, cut your preparation time and chance of forgetting important items by having a bag ready to go! Contents are everyday make-up, facial cleaners, shampoo, conditioner, comb/brush, toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, tampons and any other items you use on a daily basis. Over the counter pain relief tablets are great for stress headaches. Items purchased in larger containers, such as shampoo, conditioners, cleaners, should be put into smaller containers to save space. Used medicine or containers or film containers are great if they are re-labelled!

2.	Pack lightly: Bring one pair of dark trousers/skirt and jacket that are made of fabric that travel well. Roll in tissue paper and hang in bathroom while you are showering to release any wrinkles. If travelling for several days, bring 2-3 blouses. Shop for easy wash/dry ones. Shampoo is gentle to wash items in the sink when necessary.

3.	Dont forget your exercise. If you have a gym membership, find out if there is a complimentary member in your city of travel. Always throw in your togs in case there is a pool. Pack some walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing for walking. Always ask about safe routes. As a last resort, walk around the hotel several times to equal 45 minutes.

4.	Dont waste time on television. Bring a part of your ???life?? with you: A book you have been putting off reading (professional reading or fiction) cross-stitch, beadwork, writing letters.

5.	Take the opportunity to do things you might not ordinarily do: See a movie that you really want to see, spend time in a bookshop browsing for hours, have a facial, manicure, or shop for something you never have time to or bring your bath salts and have a good soak in the tub alone!

6.	Do things away that you wont have to do when you get home: Catch up on email, shop for a birthday gift, and phone a friend or family member you have not caught up with due to lack of time.

7.	Do not forget those who love you and you love: Phone home to children and/or partner to catch up with their day and keep connected.

8.	You job: If you travel frequently, are there ways to customize parts of your trips? Administrative assistants are wonderful at these sorts of projects. Examples are folders with important forms, handouts, procedures that you use frequently. Doing so, allows you to focus only on the ???special?? items needed for each trip. Little things like not having a pen when arriving at your destination can be a big added stress.

9.	Dont leave your diet at home: Make sure your accommodation has minimal facilities for food preparation. Keep it simple, but healthy. Take food w/ you if not convenient to go to a grocery. Some ideas: Fresh fruit, cheese, yoghurt, vegetables (carrot, cucumbers travel well) and rye or other whole meal bread.

  10. Safety: Travel with a cell phone. Use door chains in your room. Never make references to yourself ???being alone?? in conversations with/or around strangers. Avoid being out at night alone and in unsafe places (parking garages, stairwells, and unlit areas). Always walk with purpose, head up, and keys in hand. ???Looking and acting?? like a victim increases the chances of becoming one!

Plan ahead as much as possible. Take care of yourself. Down time, after the workday needs to be planned for as much as possible. Failures to plan business trips cost energy and can potentially sabotage the goal of the trip.br
